Food for Thought. Making Sense of Eating Disorders

DATE: Sep 18th, 10:00

Food for Thought Making Sense of Eating Disorders A DAY WORKSHOP Facilitated by Nicky Marshall 10 am to 4 pm Venue CHANDLERS FORD METHODIST CHURCH WINCHESTER ROAD CHANDLERS FORD EASTLEIGH SO53 2GJ The Day: Eating disorders in their various forms, and troubled relationships with food, are of increasing significance in the lives of clients presenting for counselling. In this workshop we will explore this ‘symptom’ from a variety of perspectives, so that we can begin to listen to what is trying to find expression through the client’s relationship to food. By thinking about some of our own history with food, and our responses to clients, using a variety of creative exercises, this workshop is intended to support counsellors in their attempts to listen, and help their clients listen, to what is being said through the metaphors of food, eating, nourishment and body size/weight. The Facilitator: Nicky is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and BACP accredited senior practitioner. She has extensive experience of working in the NHS and private practice with individuals and couples, and is a senior trainer and supervisor for ReVision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis.
